Nicolas Remene / Le Pictorium - Mali Magic: manuscripts for peace - 11/3/2022 - Mali / Bamako District / Bamako - A view of a manuscript in one of the archive rooms of the ngo SAVAMA-DCI (Safeguarding and valorisation of manuscripts for the defence of Islamic culture) where some of the 300,000 manuscripts exfiltrated from Timbuktu during the jihadist occupation in 2012-2013 are kept. Today, almost all of these ancient documents have been digitised by the NGO.
