Moorish Arches in the Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba / Mezquita Interior


Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption commonly known as Mezquita–catedral de Córdoba or Mezquita or Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba. The location hosted a Roman temple then a church then from the 8th century a mosque which was partially rebuilt as a cathedral following the expulsion of the Moors from Spain in the middle ages. This image shows part of the arcaded hypostyle hall.
