The Great Lawn in Central Park in the spring of 1994

The Great Lawn in Central Park in the spring of 1994. The 55 acre lawn received a major renovation between 1996-98 and is planted with Kentucky Bluegrass. Prior to it's temporary closing and renovation the lawn was heavily damaged due to overuse and lack of maintenance. Use of the Great lawn is now more tightly controlled. (© Richard B. Levine)
