Gunnery Sgt. Erik Schwartz crawls though a creek during the endurance course at the Jungle Warfare Training Center in Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, August 10, 2018. The obstacle known as the pit and pond requires Marines to crawl through and submerge themselves under water before they can complete the obstacle. Schwartz is with the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, forward-deployed to 3rd Marine Division as a part of the Unit Deployment Program.
