Preston, UK. 2nd April, 2018. It was a cold and damp day on Avenham Park in Preston, the venue for the traditional Easter egg rolling event. It’s normally one of Preston’s biggest events of the year. Despite the weather the people of Preston still turned out in numbers, albeit fewer than usual to enjoy the egg rolling and entertainment throughout the day. Nowadays the eggs that are rolled tend to be of the chocolate variety, but in days gone by children would use decorated hard-boiled eggs known as pace eggs.
