Yap Kongsi Temple Dragon

Decoration on the eaves of the Choo Chay Keong Temple, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. Small temple erected for the worship of the Yap clan's patron deities, particularly Hoay Che Chung Wang, and to house the Yap ancestral tablets. The dragon decoration on the eaves is a common sight on Chinese temples. Dragons are considered gods, and are thought to protect the temple and its patrons. The decoration is made from thousands of tiny pieces of porcelain.
