Geishausen, France, Monument to the Blue Devils at the summit of the Grand Ballon
, Geishouse, Alsace, France - Monument to the Blue Devils (fr. Diables Bleus), a mountain infantry battalion in World War I, built in 1927 on the summit of Mount Le Grand Ballon and inaugurated by Raymond Poincare. 1940 destroyed the Germans the monument in 1960 made by the sculptor Bouret again. Le Grand Ballon (dt. The Grosse Belchen), with 1424 meters the highest mountain of the Vosges is located on famous Vosges ridge road Route des Cretes (Route of the summit), which was built during World War I for the French military.
