Egyptian God Khonsu, also known as Khensu

The ancient Egyptian god Khons (also spelled Khensu and Khonsu and Chons) was honored as god of the moon and also the patron of childbirth. He was a member of the Theban triad, along with Amun and Mut. At Karnark, he was called Khons Nefer hotep (pictured here), meaning Maker of Destinies. On his head he wears the crescent and full moon symbols. He holds in his right hand an ankh symbol of life; in his left, a scepter. He wears the collar known as menat, a symbol of masculinity Often associated with Horus, he is depicted with a falcon's head, as here.
