The medical training segment was one of several training lanes in the exercise that equipped participants with the skills necessary to provide life-saving medical care during United Nations peacekeeping missions. Eleven separate traning stations, or “lanes”, are being executed during KQ16, which expose the multinational platoons to a variety of scenarios they could face while supporting peacekeeping missions around the world. Khaan Quest 2016 is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces, co-sponsored by Pacific Command, and supported by Army Pacific and Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s Global Peace Operations Initiative program. The exercise focuses on training activities to enhance international interoperability, develop peacekeeping capabilities, build to mil-to-mil relationships, and enhance military readiness.
