A rapid growing, large-sized tree, with a remarkably straight trunk ; deep green, heart-shaped leaves, and clusters of fragrant yellow flowers. Will grow almost any- where. Valuable for its wood, and makes a hand- some shade tree. MAIDEN-HAIR, TREE, or Ginkgo (Salisburia adiantifolia).
