To mention but a few of the mostrecent: Ways and Means of Increasing Membership, The Minimum Wage, Trade Boards, The CreditSystem, Sickroom Apphances, Open Membership, Womens Suffrage, Adult Suffrage, Education ofGirls, Unemployment, Standard of Pay for ^^omenWorkers. The campaigns which the Guild were carrying on in1910 dealt with the adoption of a minimum wage scalefor the women and girls employed in Stores and by ; the restriction and abolition of credit inSocieties; the establishment of school chnics by munici-palities; and adult suffrage (one man, one vote; onewoman, one vote). At first the Guild was viewed with suspicion ; it hadto live down a great amount of prejudice; and it is stillunfortunately true that there is, in many quarters, astrong reluctance to encourage the women.
