Caption: Kishingar, Rajasthan, India - Apr 2003. A mural on the walls of the Kishingar Fort, a protruding castle on the hills abover kishingr, Rajasthan. Pre Indian independence, Rajasthan was madeup of several small princly states, run by chiverlous and eccentric leaders renown for their extravagance and immense wealth. Denounced of their titles during the 1950's, the princes were given a comfortable public purse instead. The charity didnt last long, removed by Indira Ghandi twnety years later, the Princes faced the horrendous task of earning a living. Their only asset being illustrious and romantic castles, many of the princes have since converted their stately properties into tourist Fort has since been made into a tourist attraction for guests staying at the Maharaja of Kishingars former residence and now heritage hotel, Pool Mahal.
