Sea (Feb. 8, 2007) - Members of the Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) Team assigned to guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) conduct a boarding of a merchant ship as part of Operation Active Endeavor (OAE). Monterey is the flagship for Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG-2) and is currently conducting surge operations in support of OAE. OAE aims to demonstrate NATOÕs solidarity and resolve in the fight against terrorism and to improve maritime security and safety. Navy
