Hippo mom and baby walk along the shore of the Luangwa River just yards from the Norman Carr Safaris' Kakuli Bush Camp. This stretch of river has the highest concentration of hippos in southern africa. Contrary to what many people believe, it is hippos, not lions that are the biggest danger to people in Africa. This is because they are highly territorial and cranky and will attack anything that invades their territory, which people accidentally do frequently on African waters.
