Height, 19^ inchts. {Illustrated) 564— Famille Verte Tall Cylindrical Club-shaped Vase (Kang- hsi) With sloping shoulder, short neck and flanged lip, and short,contracted circular foot. The abundant decoration includes amountainous landscape at the seashore, with a tall pagoda, figureson ledges of the shore looking afar off, and others in boats ona rippled sea, the foliage of the pine trees executed in a deepemerald-green. High under an overhanging pine there is an in-scription of seventy or eighty characters, headed by a coral leafand signed with a coral seal. On the shoulder a scepter-headborder and a fret border interrupted by Buddhistic emblems,and on the neck four storks with spread wings shaped as medal-lions. Mark, a blue double ring. (Illustrated). 565— Vests Cylindrical Club-shaped Vase (Kang-hii) With sloping shoulder, deep neck and flanged lip: the body con-tracting slightly at the bottom to a low circular foot. Resplend-ent decoration exhibiting twelve coquettish and gaily attiredyoung women mounted astride on galloping horses, riding inevery direction about an enclosure while three nun with liptufts and mustaches, in mandarin robes, look down from a bal-cony, their bands raised above their shoulders in horses are coral, cream, piebald, dark brown, pale aubergineand white, and the apparel of the women and men includes green,blue, yellow, coral, white and unbergine.
