One of the best known outdoor athletic stadiums in the United States is the Rose Bowl, site of the annual college football bowl game of the same name that has been played every New Year's Day since 1923 in Pasadena, California. In addition, the stadium is home field for the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) football team, the Bruins. With seating for more than 92,000 spectators, the Rose Bowl also has hosted Super Bowls, World Cup soccer matches, celebrity concerts and many other events.
