Cassiopeia. Optical image of the constellation of Cassiopeia, a bright Northern constellation. Its five brightest stars form a flattened \W\", making it one of the most recognisable constellations. The bright star at the centre of the \"W\" is gamma Cassiopeiae, and the prominent orange star at bottom right of the \"W\" is alpha Cassiopeiae, or Shedir. The \"starburst\" effect around the bright stars is a product of the lens used to take the photograph. The \"W\" represents the throne of Queen Cassiopeia, married to King Cepheus in Greek mythology. North is towards top left corner."
