All schoolhouses for which plans and de-tailed statements shall be filed and approved, asrequired by this section, shall have all halls,doors, stairways, seats, passageways and aislesand all lighting and heating appliances and ap-paratus arranged to facilitate egress in cases offire or accident and to afford the requisite andproper accommodations for public protection in 195. < 4o oKu O 196 Schoolhouse Laws such cases. All exit doors shall open outwardly,and shall, if double doors be used, be fastenedwith movable bolts operated simultaneously byone handle from the inner face of the door. Nostaircase shall be constructed with wider stepsin lieu of a platform, but shall be constructedwith straight runs, changes in direction beingmade by platforms.
