It gives results ofCO2 in parts per 10,000 directly, and although it is very sensitive andrequires extreme care in making a determination, it is highly graduation on the machine reads to hundredths of a per cent andthousandths of a per cent are readily estimated. It is important, however,that the instrument should be accurately calibrated. The machine con-sists essentially of a 25 cc. burette, an absorption chamber containing aKOH solution, a leveling bulb containing mercury, and a manometer andcompensating bulb to correct for temperature and pressure changes. 124 Transactions of Am.
