Developing eggs of the Splash-back Poison Frog (Ranitomeya variabilis) in a bromeliad. There are two batches, one is recently laid, the other contains partly formed tadpoles. The tadpoles will develop in the water trapped between the leaf bases of the bromeliad. Photographed in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
