The only death of a member of the Faculty which hasoccurred during the present presidency—besides that ofDr. M. L. Herr—^has been that of Dr. William M. was an occasion of profound sorrow, for there havebeen few men more generally beloved; and his departureappeared to involve the breaking of the last link thatbound the College to its early history in Mercersburg. Itmay be interesting to read the memorial action taken bythe Faculty at the time of his death: IN MEMORIAM. Peof. William M. Nevin, 1806-1892. Prof. William M. Nevin, , late Emeritus Alumni.
