Bulkhead Mask sculpture by Rick Kirby, inspired by a line from Christopher Marlowe's play Dr Faustus outside Marlowe Theatre Canterbury Kent England

Right outside the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury is a giant mask (officially named ‘Bulkhead’). Created by sculptor Rick Kirby, it was inspired by a line from Christopher Marlowe's play Dr Faustus, which reads: “The face that launch'd a thousand ships.” And Kirby created it using scrap metal pieces from ships along the Kentish Coast
