Gauge plates are, unfortunately, not uniform. For manyyears the most reliable were those manufactured by Stubl) it is difficult to procure them. At the same time, it is veryimportant that some standard should be adopted in the profes-sion. Under these circumstances, we approve the suggestion of. 640 MANNER OF MAKING GOLD PLATE. Dr. S. S.
