75mm shells being manufactured at John Bertram & Sons Co. in Dundas, Ontario, Canada. In this operation, the shells are subjected to heat treatment. They pass through a furnace where the temperature and timing are precisely controlled. After heating, the shells are placed in a quenching tank and sprayed with oil to cool them quickly and achieve the desired hardness.
