Owing to its inter-denominational as-pect, tlie Young Mens Christian has been the centre of many of thereligious movements in the city and dis-trict within the last fifty years, and tlistory of its work has therefore a bearingon the religions life of Aberdeen ingeneral. On Tuesday evening, 6th July, 18-58, asmall company of young men met in thesession-house of Bon-Aceord Free Church(then in Union Terrace, on the site of thepresent School Board Offices) to endea-vour to form a Young Mens ChristianAssociation in this town! Those presentwere:—Messrs. Joseph Wood, CharlesSmith, Alexander Milne, Robert Milne,William Martin, Francis Shepherd, JamesSouttar, William B.
