I triedto assist the development of this novel anddisconcerting discovery. And also I in-dulged in a little lecture on the absence ofa large *class-conscious proletariat in theWestern communities. I explained that inEngland there were two hundred differentclasses at least, and that the only class-conscious proletarians known to me in theland were a small band of mainly Scotch 90.
