The holiday resort of Varosha in Famagusta has been closed off to the world since the Turkish Army invaded Northern Cyprus in 1974. The Cypriot Turkish Government opened the parts of Varosha to the public in late 2020 and visitors can now walk or cycle around the deserted hotels and buildings in what was once the jewel in the crown of Cypriot holiday resorts.
