This new species is characterized by its glabrous habit, its oblanceo-late, revolute leaves with inconspicuous lateral veins, its oblanceolateflower-subtending bracts, and by having its lower sepals slightly is related to M. chlamydantha Ferreyra, from which it differsin its simple racemes, smaller leaves, glabrous flower-subtendingbracts, etc. 16.
