Burton, 2-16 New Bridge Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, 1980-1995. The Art Deco style Burton store on the corner of New Bridge Street and Northumberland Street, seen from across the road junction to the south-east. Historic mapping indicates that the upper floors were used as a NAAFI in the 1950s. The building was demolished in around 1990, and the site was redeveloped as part of the Monument Mall shopping centre.
