From the amount of brood, and the drones already hatcht, I judged that they were at work in good earnest. These faulty drones were beautiful in color—the yellowest I ever saw. A new idea struck me, and I concluded I would rear some queens and have them fer- tilized by these yellow drones before there were any drones from the other colonies.
