Malcolm X College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, is a two-year institution located west of the downtown and the city's Loop. Founded in 1911 as Crane Junior College, the first by the Chicago Board of Education, it was renamed for Malcom X in 1968. The current building opened in 2016. The facility offers a large selection of health sciences programs for students preparing for a careers in healthcare.
