Thunberg enlisted at thesame time in the EngineerCorps and, after spendinga short time at Fort Mc-Dowell, they were sent toCamp Humphreys, Virginia,where they are now intraining. Walter Storm isworking hard and studyingto become a non-com. Hesays, Its no snap to geteven a corporals job. Earl Patterson enlistedwith the Engineers and wassent to Vancouver Barracksand from there to Camp. Lieutenant R. D. Likely, Avi-ation Corps, A. E. F. (Form-erly of Redwood District.) Humphreys, Virginia. He has spent somestrenuous time in training and is now^helping to build a branch railroad linefrom Washington, D. C, to Camp Hum-phreys. He had hoped to seeservice inFrance at an early date, and writes thathe is going to make a request that he betransferred to the infantry. To quote hisown words, I would rather fight thanwork. Norman E. Maze is now at Camp Meigs,Washington, D, C, having enlisted in theQuartermaster Department. He has en-tered a non-com officers school and ismaking good progress with his studiesand no doubt will get his stripes. J. P. Krog was sent to Los Angeles forspecial training in the Polytechnic HighSchool at that point. This will cover aperiod of three months. Frank A.
