At all floral ex- hibitions, and when sent as cut flowers to the New York market, this plant attracts more at- tention than any other flower. It grows from four to six feet high; the flower spike is often five feet high, and the flower meas- ures twelve to fif- teen inches long, and twelve inches in circumference. They are a daz- zling scarlet, lower half of flower tinged with rich orange. A clump of these makes a striking show. A valuable feature is that the flowers are nearly frost-pronf and remain uninjured long after nearly all other flowers have perished. 20 cts. each ; 3 for 50 cts. or 7 for NEW EXCELSIOR PEARL Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original W.
