South transept, Altarpiece (1725) dedicated to Saint-Nicolas. Statue and bas-reliefs which evoke scenes from the life of the saint, Saint-Gildas Abbey.

In the south transept, an altarpiece was built, the columns of which are in black marble. It bears the date 1725 and is dedicated to Saint-Nicolas whose giant statue is flanked by bas-reliefs which evoke scenes from the life of the saint: on the right the three young girls to whom he would have spared prostitution by giving them a dowry; on the left an evocation of the lament of the three little children who were going to glean in the fields
