Boka Ascension is an inlet from the Caribbean Sea on the northwest side of the island of Curacao. It is a popular place for spotting sea turtles. In the background is the historic Landhuis Ascension whose plantation was founded in 1672. In the foreground is the much-worn trunk of a giant rain forest tree that was washed out to sea from the South American mainland.
