Antique Japanese Kutani porcelain plate with nicely painted pair of Foo Dogs / Komainu happily playing with balls. Legend says that people would leave out yarn balls in the hope that the large cats would play with them and deposit their magic milk into the yarn. Good condition with some minor surface wear to the gilding and enamels.
