There are no setae or hairs on any part of the body except for a few very minute dark hairs on certain regions of the ab- dominal segments, discernible onl}- with a lens. The cremaster bears two medium long and two short curved hooks. The pupa is pictured on Plate 8. Imagos emerged Julv 29, FLATE 9 Larval case of Thyrklopteryx meaclii Hy. Edw., enlarged. Thyridopteryx MEADii Hy. Edw. This interesting Psychid occurs in great abundance in the regions of the ^lojave Desert north and east of the town of Mojave. This was described by Henry Edwards in Papilio. I. 116. 1881, from the "Alojave ; No record of foodplant was given, and no illustration of the larval case, the latter a most important feature.
