SamuelSpencer, was secretary of the company. their capacity with tourists, who, find-ing excellent accommodations athand, choose this mode of getting intoFloridian waters and among theislands and coast resorts which are sofamous for the superexcellence of theshooting and fishing they afford. A fine agricultural country fur-nishes a basis for development which,mdependently of the industrial feat-ures, would go far toward creating animportant trading centre here. Goodlands, a rich sandy loam predominat-ing, are characteristic of Muscogeecounty, and with a high health rate, anequable climate, adaptability to a greatvariety of crops and cheapprices for lands, a largeimmigration movement willundoubtedl}^ be first colony settlementin the vicinity of Columbushas just been made by for many years and untilhis death in 1880, when hewas succeeded by Mr. Coart, the present sec-retary.
