Fly Through Europe by Imperial Airways
Paul Scheurich (1883-1945) was a German painter, printmaker, commercial artist and one of the most important porcelain sculptors of the first half of the 20th century. He created this charming travel poster for Imperial Airways, which was the early British long range air transport company from 1924-1939. In 1939, the airline merged into British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), which eventually became British Airways. At the time this poster was created, Imperial's aircraft mostly seated fewer than twenty passengers, which were treated to low and slow flying, ideal for sightseeing
