Inpolitical sentiment the Captain was a Repub-lican, and fraternally belonged to the Masonicorder, Sir Knight and G. A. R. In religious be-lief he was a Presbyterian. He died Dec. 30,1899. Mrs. Dysart and her daughters have apleasant home on Depot Avenue, Dixon, 111.,where they now WILLIAM C. DYSART. WILLIAM C. DYSART (deceased), for manyyears a prominent merchant and grain andlumber dealer of Lee County, was born inHuntingdon County, Penn., July 9, 1837, sonof Joseph and Mary A. (Davidson) Dysart, anda brother of Captain John Dysart. His earlylife was spent on a farm and in the meantimehe obtained a liberal education in the MountainSeminary, Birmingham, Penn. In the spring HISTORY OF LEE COUNTY. 745 of 1866 he came to Lee County, and in part-nership with his brother, Captain John Dysart,erected the first grain elevator at Nachusa,which they operated for one year. Returningto his native State in 1867, he establishedhimself in the grocery business at Altoona,which he conducted until 1879. when he re-turned to Nachusa, where he became a generalmerchant and lumber dealer, and retired fromactive business in 1887. On Jan. 23, 1872, hemarried Sophia Barlow, daughter of AugustusBarlow, and to them two children were born—Anna May (Mrs. Guy Furley of Iowa) andLela. Mr.
