His practice is lucrativeand embraces all kinds of causes in all thecourts of tlie State. Probably no lawyer of hisyears stands higher or has a more extensivebusiness at the Fairfield County bar. Althoughthe office of Secretary of State has been honoredby many worthy persons, it neither has had,nor will have, any worthier incumbent thanHon. Robert Jay Walsh of Greenwich. Mr. Walsh has continued to hold the officeof Secretary by reason of the failure of the Gen-eral Assembly to make the usual declaration asto who was his legally elected successor. 15.
