Despite intensive collecting on Barro Colorado Island, few specimens of E. monticola have been taken. Two were collected in May 1984 and two more in July 1985. Two specimens have been reared in Santa Rosa National Park. Both parasitized Gonodonta species (Noctuidae) [; ]..
