He earned his Naval Flight Officer wings in January 2017 and was subsequently designated as an Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) in the EA-6B with the “Vikings” of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129 in February 2008. Arboleda’s first operational assignment was with VAQ-130 “Zappers,” embarked aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) supporting operations Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). His department head tour with VAQ-135 “Black Ravens” included deployments to Misawa Airbase, Japan and Al Udeid Airbase, Qatar in support of operations Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (OFS). While on shore duty, CDR Arboleda transitioned to the F/A-18F Super Hornet with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122 and the EA-18G with VAQ-129. He served as an Operational Test Director (OTD) for the F/A-18 and EA-18G with Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 9 “Vampires” from 2012 to 2014. He has served two tours with the Electronic Attack Weapons School (EAWS) as an instructor from 2014 to 2016 and the Director of Aircrew Training beginning in 2020. CDR Arboleda has accumulated over 2200 flight hours and 145 carrier arrested landings in the EA-18G, F/A-18F, EA-6B, and other aircraft. He has been awarded the 2016 Airborne Electronic Attack Integration Award, the 2018 ALQ-99 Systems Excellence Award, and led a Speed to Fleet project team that received the 2019 Naval Air Systems Command Commander’s Award. His decorations include the Strike/Flight Air Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), as well as various campaign, unit, and individual awards.
