Rochelle salt and hydrogen peroxide reacting. Conical flask containing hydrogen peroxide and potassium sodium tartrate, also known as Rochelle salt. The hydrogen peroxide oxidises the Rochelle salt producing carbon dioxide (bubbles), methanoate ions and water. This reaction, which is usually very slow, is being accelerated by the catalyst cobalt salt.
