Plankton net. Antarctic Multiple Plankton Sampler (AMPS), or Multinet, being deployed from Royal Research Ship James Clark Ross. This frame- mounted net is used to take samples of floating sea-life, such as krill. It can take five separate samples using internal sub-nets. The sampling process can be controlled and monitored from the surface. It has a mouth area of square metres. Photographed off South Georgia Island.
