Detailed Rib Section of a Grey Seal Skeleton washed up on Greencliff Beach in North Devon.
North Atlantic Grey Seals (Halichoerus grypus atlantica) can often be seen around the North Devon coast and estuaries. The Atlantic surf can be a dangerous environment. Many of the young animals do not make it through their first winter. This skeleton was washed up during heavy seas at Greencliff.
