In later life he took up shoemaking and coopering. I [e was aman of cheerful and jovial disposition and was widely known and well likedby all who knew him. James W. Key is the only one of his fathers family who is living today,and he has attained an advanced age well preserved in mind and body andwith a keen interest in current events. His schooling in his youth was lim-ited, partly owing to the limited circumstances of his mother and parti}indifferent opportunities at best. When quite young he took up the vocationof farming, which he has followed all his life and is at present living <n\ hisfarm in White River township.
