Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, legendary surfer and Olympic swimmer from Honolulu, Hawaii, is included in the Surfing Hall of Fame, Swimming Hall of Fame, and the Olympic Hall of Fame. Kahanamoku is known today as the father of modern surfing and is often referred to simply as "The Duke." (Shown here in 1912 on trip to New York for the Olympic trials.)
