"1st Sgt. Harry J. Adams captured 375 German prisoners during the American cleanup of Bouillonville in the salient of St. Mihiel. He spotted a German running into a house, fired two shots, and ordered the German to surrender. The German complied, leading to the capture of one lieutenant colonel, 18 staff officers, and 355 soldiers. Sgt. Adams was recommended for a Croix de Guerre by official order."
