Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Ornithinicoccus hortensis is a Gram-positive, irregularly shaped coccus bacterium that occurs singly, in pairs, short chains and clusters. O. hortensis is soil bacterium (actinomycete) that is aerobic to microaerophilic, oxidase-negative, catalase-positive, non-motile and has no spore formation. O. hortensis contains a key amino acid called ornithine (L-ornithine). Magnification: x9,335 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
